In a world were it is drilled in to us to not waste paper and to think before you print, International Paper, brand holders for REY, tasked Renew to create a campaign that educates children aged 5-7yrs on the paper making process and to tell the great story of sustainability. We designed and developed an Activity Book and associated collateral to be distributed to schools across the UK and France.

Rey Bear

Our concept was to create Rey Bear and Friends, illustrated characters developed to build an emotive connection with the children. The characters tell the story of the paper making process with a selection of activities for their age range in the back of the book, together with samples of REY paper.

The activity book was supported by branded school bags, posters for classrooms and educational, but fun, playing cards. The activities were also used for a scheme in partnership with the National Literacy Trust in the UK, as part of an educational pack sent out to under-priviledged children.

What International Paper said

Renew were awarded the project due to the extensive time they invested in their initial concept presentation. The character illustrations work perfectly in the book and their campaign ideas were exciting to take forward to produce a full suite of collateral. A great response to a challenging brief.”
